how to open your third eye

Theodore von Kiedrowski answers frequently asked questions about the thirdeye.

As my third eye opens what can I expect to happen?

This is actually a good question, but one that I am reluctant to answer beyond a certain level, not because there isn’t an answer, rather I don’t want to misdirect someone and actually hinder them.

Let me explain.
What can greatly influence the opening of the third eye is actually ‘expectation’. Expectation has two sides of influence.
One side assists you, and the other hinders you.

Expectation is based upon ‘projected memory’…and going into a ‘new experience’ without ‘prejudice’, requires genuine practice and training.

To have a ‘new experience’, requires ‘exploration’, ‘discovery’ and actually ‘openness’ and flexibility. Memory is about what we know or we have some knowledge of. ‘Newness’ is the absence of the old. Most people want ‘new experiences’, but still maintain the sense of their ‘normal’ perceptions…sorry it won’t happen. Long distance vision, astral traveling, clairaudience etc, all require that one ‘uses senses’ beyond the normal 5.

Everyone is capable of Extra-Sensory -Perception (ESP) , but the normal habits and routines within the person’s nervous system, prejudices them away from the subtle towards the gross aspects, because they are the most obvious.

Development of more subtle perceptions requires the practitioner or trainee to temporarily suspend their normal attitudes, beliefs and habits and to ‘SEE without Looking’…and this takes practice. If I tell you what you might experience, then most people start ‘looking for what they think I described’, instead of just ‘Seeing’…so there is the conundrum…and for these reasons, teachers, gurus, etc whatever you want to call them…are reluctant to divulge information, so they don’t impede the progress of the seeker.

However, many will report seeing, hearing and feeling ‘things’ that they normally don’t.
Some have reported seeing ‘beings’, ‘spirits’, ‘seeing through walls’, ‘hearing other peoples thoughts’…but for me what is the most valuable is what the student learns about themselves.

The ancient yoga and Buddhist teachers taught about the whole of life being a dream…a great illusion often referred to as the ‘Maya’…well it is! And if the student can discover that they are more than just a bunch of chemicals, habits and programs given to them by up bringing and society, then progress will have been made. The ability to astral travel etc, are reflections of a student’s development and the capacity to withdraw out of the gross Maya, and into the subtle worlds…and are therefore encouraged.
